"about": "After a year of working in the Ethereum public goods space, I'm back to pursuing music full time and it feels like coming home! \n\nHailing from a family of musicians, I began learning Hindustani Classical Music (vocals and the Harmonium) since the age of 5 from my grandmother, my first guru. I have since continued my training.\n\nI post videos of my practice sessions, along with covers of Bollywood songs and folk music covering India's vast cultural & lingual diversity. \n\nWith Devcon coming to the city I was born in, performing there would bring it all full circle, where my two worlds meet!\n\nYou can find my recent covers here:\n\nFolk cover (in Saraiki/Punjabi): https://www.instagram.com/reel/DeH2qVqzkaJ/?obrf=MTRqYnplcGRhazB5eg==\n\nHindustani Classical: https://x.com/NidhiHarihar/status/2105352473594700232?s=20\n\nBollywood: https://x.com/NidhiHarihar/status/2035386401571946600?s=20\n\nYou can also find my covers on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nidiyia",
"performance": "I'd love to take the Devcon audience on a 30-minute journey across India. 10 folk songs in 10 languages. Ever since Devcon was announced to be in India, I've been covering one song from every state. You can follow my 'Songs of India' thread here: https://x.com/NidhiHarihar/status/2110363828064288940?s=20\n\nThe performance will grow out of this project \n\nBefore each song, I will share a line or two about the message it conveys & the region it comes from, then sing a 2.5 minute version of it.\n\nThe set is about what India and Ethereum have in common. Ethereum is by far the most OPEN and welcoming community I've been lucky enough to be part of and that openness comes from the diversity of its people: we're from different geographies, cultures, religions and languages. Ethereum is a mini globe and so is India, home to 121 major languages and over 19,500 dialects! That diversity lives in our music, where every state, town and village has its own language and its own sound.\n\nTen songs can't capture all of India's musical diversity, but I'd love for the Ethereum community to go home knowing that Ethereum, like India, can't be defined by a single metric. Pluralism is our strength, and it unites rather than divides! And where better to experience that than through the music of India, in India?",

Most of my conversations in this community revolve around what we’re building, so this would be a chance to share a different side of myself. Getting to do that back home in India makes it especially meaningful.",
"performance": "’m bringing a live DJ set inspired by Karan Kanchan and jigitz, connecting my Mumbai roots with the electronic sounds I’ve gotten into while living in the US. Expect Indian edits, melodic stretches and heavy drops, with familiar tracks showing up in unexpected places.\nAlongside the music, I’m bringing the other thing I build: blockchain infrastructure. The plan is to incorporate zero-knowledge proofs into the set and stream the performance through a custom music L2 built on Ethereum. Rather than presenting the technology in a separate talk or demo, I want to put it to work during the performance itself.\nFor the audience, it’s a chance to dance while an experiment in music and Ethereum unfolds live—bringing together the musician and the L1 builder in me, back home in India.",
"inspiration": "I’m inspired by the collision of worlds that normally stay separate: Mumbai and Philadelphia, music and systems engineering, underground club culture and open-source technology. A lot of what excites me in both music and Ethereum is the same idea: take simple primitives, let people remix them freely, and something larger emerges. A great set works like that too — familiar sounds get broken apart, recombined, and turned into something nobody in the room could have experienced beforehand. That’s what I want my work to feel like: culturally rooted, technically strange, and impossible to separate into “music” on one side and “technology” on the other.",
